Thomas Tuchel is preparing for his first full season in charge of Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich in the 2023/24 campaign.
The Bavarian club secured the league title on the final day of the season thanks to a late goal from Jamal Musiala after Borussia Dortmund failed to win at home. It was the silver lining of a poor season for the German giants.
Tuchel, along with Bayern's new-look board, will want to get his side challenging for the Champions League again. They won the competition in 2020, but Tuchel was in the Paris Saint-Germain dugout during the final.
The Sporting News looks at the signings Bayern have made ahead of the 2023/24 season to make themselves more competitive.
Bayern Munich new signings 2023/24
Bayern have caused some consternation among neutrals in the past for signing key players from their rivals on a consistent basis. They have brought in the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Mats Hummels and Mario Gotze from Dortmund, plus Dayot Upamecano and Marcel Sabitzer from RB Leipzig in recent years, but the outside noise has not stopped them from doing it again.
Raphael Guerreiro has signed for Bayern following his contract expiration at Dortmund. The defender, who can also play in midfield, had a strong end to the Bundesliga campaign last season, including a goal on the final day.
They have also brought in Austria international Konrad Laimer from Leipzig. He also joins on a free transfer as Tuchel looks to improve his squad depth so Bayern can challenge for silverware in multiple competitions.

Bayern transfer latest
Despite many rumours of a deal being close to completion, Bayern have not yet got the transfer of Kim Min-jae across the line. It is clear that Tuchel wants to improve the quality of his backline and the Napoli defender is a key target,
Fabrizio Romano has reported that Manchester City right-back Kyle Walker could be on his way to Munich this summer. The England international won the treble with the Citizens last season and could be searching for a new challenge in Germany. Pep Guardiola could also pursue Benjamin Pavard as a replacement for Walker in his defence.
Another potential signing from the Premier League — and by far the most high-profile on Bayern's radar — is Tottenham striker Harry Kane. This is will not be an easy signing by any stretch of the imagination as Spurs are desperate to hold onto their star man, while Kane could also be tempted to break the Premier League scoring record before thinking of a move abroad.
Reports suggest that the Bayern hierarchy met with Daniel Levy in London to talk about Kane's future among other things. If this deal goes on to happen, it will certainly make the German side one of the favourites to win the Champions League.
